Applied Lessons

Music

The social and scientific effects of music on human life are a proven fact. Music stimulates the
brain, and with its varied sounds and lyrics, students are exposed to a large amount of
vocabulary in a short amount of time. Music also provides exposure to other languages, which
creates a foundation for the student’s ability to understand and communicate in a different
language.
In music lessons and club times from elementary school to high school, we encourage students
to work in groups, strengthen their social relations, and focus on coordination, timing, and
performance skills. We offer a broad education by combining the Ministry of Education
curriculum and the IB PYP-MYP music achievements within the same framework.
In music lessons, we provide students with competence in various fields such as instrument-
playing skills, choral awareness, rhythmic listening, reading and playing, music theory,
movement, dance, creativity, and performance. With these achievements, we emphasize the
development of muscle and motor skills, support of listening and language skills, innovative and
creative thinking using science and technology, hand-eye coordination, time management and
organization skills, reading and comprehension skills, and mathematical thinking skills by
strengthening the memory of students.
In addition, with music lessons, we reduce stress by increasing the discipline of students,
strengthening their sense of self, and teaching them patience.
